Rika started her career in advertising in Italy and then moved on to work in the humanitarian sector in Kenya, Chad and Haiti as a project manager. Her passion for private sector development brought her back to Rwanda to work for the Rwandan Development Board as anEconomic analyst. Over the last 3 years she has been a regional advisor for BiD Network in East Africa and Liberia. She currently works as the managing director of Ejo Partners.

She holds a Master of Science in Economics with reference to Africa from SOAS University in London and a BA in International economics and management from Bocconi University in Milan.

 

ANNEKE

Passionate about international trade and business, Anneke started her career in cross border trade and analysis, advising large Dutch corporations on their investment paths into Brazil and Sri Lanka. Moving from corporate to Small and Medium (SME) enterprise level, Anneke then became active in the area of SME finance, preparing emerging market entrepreneurs in the final stages for finance and connecting them to (inter)national financiers. 

Over the years she has developed content for training on finance readiness, trained business service providers in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, set up and run international and local business plan competitions, assessed 100s of business plans, drove the set-up of Business Angel networks and helped leverage over USD 7 mln from financiers to entrepreneurs. Anneke holds a Master degree in International Business Administration from Maastricht University (Netherlands) and a Minor in International Politics from Sciences Po (Paris).

 

YVAN

Yvan Gatoto started his professional career working for Millicom International Cellular (Tigo Rwanda) the department of Radio Frequency Planning and Optimization. Passionate about the development of private sector, he worked as the National Coordinator of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Rwanda and was responsible for the overall management and administrative tasks of the organization. Under his coordination JCI promoted entrepreneurship in Rwanda under through trainings, business plan competitions and the organization of international conferences. He is currently program officer at Ejo Partners.
